Trina Solar Japan Energy (“TSJE”)Wins First FIP Solar Bid, 3 Projects 1,139.6kW

On June 23, 2023, the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO) announced the results of the solar FIP bidding (1st round in 2023). TSJE and Trina Solar group won 3 bids at 9.49 yen/kWh. (total 1,139.6 kW). The total number of bids was 35 (119,719.8 kW in total), the weighted average bid price was 9.36 yen/kWh, and our successful bid price of 9.49 yen/kWh was the highest winning bid.

It marks the first FIP successful bid for Trina Solar.

FIP (Feed-in-Premium) is a system in which an incentive equivalent to the difference between the FIP price (the bid price) and the JEPX market price will be granted by a public authority according to the power volume generated. It is expected to support TSJE’s non-FIT business.
